Liu Xuan was at the time a student and part-time faculty member in Syracuse University's Master of Fine Arts program. Following the closure of the art video program after her graduation, Liu channeled the feelings into her thesis work: a recording of her department's dean, performed by an actor, announcing the program's closure while burning a camcorder. The documentary attempted to use the progression of Liu’s thesis work as a thread that leads through her art, experiences, and vision.
